This project, which involves governmental agencies of education and science among other parties, is one of the emblematic programs of the Corporation. The objective of Atacama’s Junior Academy of Sciences is to stimulate, guide and shelter kids and young people interested in science all over the region. The goal is to produce and deliver contents and tools to equalize access opportunities and democratize scientific and cultural information, especially in remote communities. To do so, there will be scientific workshops and clubs for local schools and social organizations.

Along with supporting continuous training including research activities and the application of scientific methodologies, the Junior Academy will also produce frequent local, regional and national events to promote social interaction and to share experiences. According to what has already been discussed with the authority, this project can be implemented in Atacama as a pilot project which in the future could be replicated in other regions and territories along Chile.
